What Volunteer Leadership Looks Like
Volunteer Leaders at the E.WE Foundation serve as strategic partners to the organization. These roles are:
- Impact-focused rather than administrative
- Flexible and remote-friendly
- Aligned with real organizational needs and priorities
- Designed to leverage your professional expertise
- Collaborative with the Founder/CEO and cross-functional teams
Time commitment varies by role and availability, typically ranging from a few hours per week to more structured engagement during key initiatives.
Current Volunteer Leadership Opportunities
We are currently seeking experienced professionals in the following areas of leadership:
Chief Operating Officer / Operations Director
Leads internal systems, operational structure, and cross-functional coordination to ensure the organization runs efficiently and effectively. Focuses on building scalable processes, improving execution, and strengthening day-to-day organizational performance.
Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director
Provides financial oversight, budgeting support, and long-term financial planning guidance. Helps ensure responsible stewardship of resources, transparency in reporting, and sustainability of mission-driven growth.
Chief Development Officer / Development Director
Leads strategy for fundraising, donor engagement, and partnership development. Supports grant strategy, revenue diversification, and relationship-building with philanthropic and institutional partners.
Chief Program Officer / Program Director
Guides the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs. Ensures initiatives remain aligned with community needs, grounded in lived experience, and focused on measurable impact for families.
Chief Marketing & Communications Officer
Leads storytelling, branding, and communications strategy. Focuses on increasing visibility, strengthening messaging, and ensuring the voices of families and caregivers are centered in all outreach efforts.
Chief Strategy Officer / Chief of Staff – Strategic
Supports organizational planning, cross-functional alignment, and priority execution. Serves as a connector across teams, helping translate vision into action and ensuring strategic initiatives move forward effectively.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome leaders who bring experience in:
- Nonprofit leadership or governance
- Healthcare, research, or patient advocacy systems
- Finance, operations, development, or communications
- Strategy, organizational design, or program development
- Lived experience navigating complex healthcare systems (valued alongside professional expertise)
Most importantly, we are looking for people who care deeply about improving outcomes for families facing rare and medically complex conditions.
